Press Release
Capitalising on the success of its first wholesale partnership, providing technology to Mobile Operators, Mondial Telecom is now set to scale up its wholesale business.
After the launch in September 2009 of its highly innovative mobile product CHERRY, powered by its proprietary WiFi to GSM convergence technology, the Belgian operator MONDIAL TELECOM has announced its first wholesale partnership.
The innovative online Belgian mobile operator MOBILE VIKINGS will use Mondial Telecom’s technology to build on their innovative product portfolio and continue to drive customer acquisition.
« We and our 30,000 Vikings are drawn to new technologies. It is for this reason that Mobile Vikings is open to collaboration with innovative companies like Mondial Telecom » explains Frank Bekkers, CEO of Mobile Vikings.
This partnership demonstrates the first step in Mondial Telecom’s wholesale roll-out of its innovative WiFi to GSM convergence technology. Its solutions range from light-weight integration through to fully integrated or managed services. These solutions are designed to help any MNO, MVNO MVNE or ISP relieve network pressure, extend coverage and reach new markets.
Already including features such as Single number identifier, inbound and outbound WiFi calling, seamless handover (switching in-call between WiFi and GSM), Voice Quality Control and battery saving technology; Mondial Telecom is also currently developing functionality to switch calls across multiple mobile devices.
Mondial Telecom is currently in discussions with several mobile operators and Internet Service Providers and will be attending the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from 14-18 February to scale-up its wholesale activity.
« In preparing for the Mobile World Congress, we found that the level of interest from operators in our technology is very high. We are looking forward to showing how we can help tackle some of the biggest concerns in the mobile market today » states Marc De Cock, Sales and Business Development Manager for Operator Solutions at Mondial Telecom.
Hinting at some of the technical developments and improvements to come but keen to celebrate an early success, Mondial Telecom CEO Bernard Noel de Burlin says
« We will be making some exciting technological announcements in the near future but now is the time to welcome this partnership in Belgium. We're very happy about our partnership with Mobile Vikings as they have a truly unique and exciting proposition which is perfect fit with our technology» Bernard Noel de Burlin, CEO of Mondial Telecom.
